National Educational Resource Collective
This year, Schoolhouse Supplies Executive Director Alice Forbes began her term on the Steering Committee for the National Educational Resource Collective. Started four years ago, the Collective was a grassroots effort of a handful of teacher resource centers around the United States. Many of us have been friends and partners for a long time, and these efforts have helped provide structure that allows us to stay connected, learn from each other, and leverage our collective scale even as the network grows and individuals come and go.
Today, our network touches every corner of the country and represents nonprofit organizations large and small. No matter where you visit, you’ll find a similar mission – to support the remarkable kids and teachers in our communities. Under-resourced classrooms all over the United States benefit from members of the Collective.
Together, we impact hundreds of thousands of students and teachers, helping to support more equitable and more successful learning environments.
Significantly, this network also provides businesses with a large-scale, mission-focused reverse logistics partner that can keep surplus and returns out of the landfill and give those products a new, useful life in classrooms in local communities.
