Boards & Brews 2026 Event Recap
Building Connections Through Boards & Brews: A Networking Event Designed to Learn About Nonprofit Board and Committee Service
Boards & Brews is all about building a stronger community with individuals who want to make an impact in our local community! This year, we partnered with five of our nonprofit friends to bring together purpose-driven individuals for an evening focused on connecting people with organizations seeking passionate, skilled, and diverse board and committee members.
Over a local craft brew, attendees had the opportunity to meet nonprofit leaders, learn more about what board and committee service looks like, and explore ways to put their skills and experiences to work for causes they care about. It was an opportunity to spark conversations, make meaningful connections, and discover the many ways to get involved in strengthening our community.
We know that strong nonprofits need more than financial support. They need engaged individuals who bring fresh perspectives, valuable expertise, and a genuine commitment to their mission. By bringing organizations and potential board members together, we're helping create opportunities for both to grow and make an even greater impact.
We're grateful to our nonprofit partners and everyone who joined us. Events like these remind us that building a stronger community is a collective effort, and sometimes all it takes is one conversation to get started.

Portland Backpack
Portland Backpack exists to serve children at risk of hunger by providing food sacks for weekend days when food scarcity is higher. Each nourishing sack includes a hand-crafted message of encouragement, feeding mind and body. We believe engaging the community in this effort creates a greater impact that reaches beyond reducing hunger.
