Donate Supplies

Schoolhouse Supplies collects new and reusable school, office, and art supplies, as well as books, games and other learning materials suitable for classrooms.

Donation Process

  1. Make sure we accept what you have by reading the lists below. Please ensure the items are clean and in good condition, suitable for a classroom. Musty, dirty or unusable items will not be accepted

  2. Your donation must be organized in a bag or small boxes that are easy to carry and that you will leave with us.

  3. Make an appointment for your donation.

  4. We will give you a tax receipt for your records and a tour of the Free Store for Teachers if you’re interested!

Make An Appointment

Most appointment times are Tuesday – Thursday 9:30am – 2:00pm.

Since we implemented the appointment system over a year ago, the feedback has been positive: no lines and someone is available right away to receive your donation. Please email or call if you can’t make any of the available times so we can try to accomodate your schedule.

Please Note: Schoolhouse Supplies staff will be wearing masks and we ask that you do, too.

Is your item not on this list? Please call us at (503) 249-9933 before you drop off your donation to see if it is something we can take – if we are not able to accept your donation, we’ll do our best to refer you to another organization that could.

What We Never Accept

Some things are just not meant for Schoolhouse Supplies or classrooms. Please find creative ways to reuse or recycle these items at home or donate them to another reuse organization.

Schoolhouse Supplies can never accept the following materials:

Old Curriculum: We can only take curriculum material from the past 10 years, so please do not bring older workbooks, lessons, teaching books, or other dated content.

Items in poor condition: Please be mindful of condition especially with books. We want items to last teachers a few years when they get them from us, so please do not bring books with torn pages, writing in them, beat up bindings, or any other compromised sections. Also, please make sure no other items that you donate are broken.
