Our Free Store for Teachers is at the core of our mission. We stock our shelves with new school supplies collected from businesses and individuals so you can stock your classroom for free. Teachers who shop at Schoolhouse Supplies find that we are just like any retail store, with shopping carts, bright displays and a variety of merchandise.

Our Free Store is open to all 3,000 teachers in the Portland Public Schools, including alternative and chapter programs. Each school is assigned 8 shopping weeks throughout the year (September - June).

COMPANIES + CLASSROOMS

Steve Naganuma, a teacher at Benson High School, has shopped with Schoolhouse Supplies for 4 years. Currently teaching Radio Broadcasting and Shop Class, Mr. Naganuma keeps his students focused through goal-oriented activities. "I will use the Intel T-shirts as rewards, the kids love them."

Many teachers find student incentives on the shelves of the Free Store. By partnering with businesses and taking donations of corporate surplus, Schoolhouse Supplies diverts at least  3 busloads of useable items from the landfill each year.
